Pexip simplifies complex video conferencing to empower teams to meet, regardless of location or technology. The company is experiencing rapid growth and our technical communication is an essential part of our customer relationship. Pexip is extremely proud of the quality and breadth of its documentation and training, and receives constant customer praise for both. We are looking for passionate, confident, curious communicators to help customers understand our products as we grow.
What's the opportunity?
To build on our existing training material, and direct the ongoing development of training content within Pexip.
Pexip training is highly technical in nature - this is not “end user” training, but rather training for Unified Collaboration experts or technology consultants, in how to install, manage and troubleshoot the Pexip platforms. We deliver this to our technical partners, other service providers and directly to end-customer system administrators.
Our training is delivered in-person, remotely, and using online methods.
We deliver our in-person training globally, based on a repository of traditional business slides, and pre-designed live lab walk-throughs. We are looking to make the slide material (PowerPoint) more informative, engaging and entertaining, potentially using alternative methods.
Remote delivery is generally ad-hoc using a combination of shared resources and individual customised content.
Online delivery is a new area for us as we scale the entire delivery of training and shift focus to continuous professional development. We will use the Moodle LMS to deliver scripted and animated videos (Camtasia etc) in combination with interactive quizzing then testing (Moodle, HP5, Prezi etc). Further, we are using the open source nature of Moodle to interact with a specially developed system that allows us to provision a live lab deployment of Pexip Infinity, which can then be used to present trainees with troubleshooting tasks.
Qualifications and experience
This role will appeal to someone who has a flair in creating technical content that can be reused in multiple environments, is creative when using typical business applications, and has an interest in alternative content creation methods, all while maintaining great pedagogical thinking.
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor's degree required.
5+ years relevant experience in videoconferencing or similar industries.
A good understanding of LMSs and how to develop engaging content within such a platform. Given Moodle is currently our LMS of choice, a deeper understanding of this system would be desirable. In addition, any experience of developing Moodle plugins would be welcome.
An ability to visualise complex virtualised and network environments, then portray those concepts in an educational yet entertaining format.
Ability to absorb existing information, identify gaps, ask questions, and seek out answers.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to produce training materials in a variety of formats (e.g. training videos, online documentation and interactive LMS course development, written guides for trainers, written guides for trainees).
Ability to deliver training material in a clear and engaging manner is a plus.
Ability to rely on experience and sound judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
Ability to juggle a variety of complicated tasks, and be comfortable working independently.
Willingness to travel.
We believe in enabling people rather than managing them, so we are looking for self-motivated individuals who are willing to take on responsibility for identifying areas where they can make the best contribution.
